eastern fuel and water filter

Hi all just purchased an eastern fuel and water filter,the ones with the glass bowl at the bottom,and i,m havin trouble gettin the fuel through it,has anyone got one of these setups that might have an idea whats wrong, cheers

Diesel or petrol?

Check the washers are clean and intact, and seated correctly before attaching etc etc... You might have drawn through an air lock already that is stopping you getting fuel. Did you have problems before you got the filter??

petrol, no this is a new setup,was advised by a mate to fit it as i had a new aluminum tank built,and a build up of water can happen, also am i right in thinking that when you connect fuel lines that they run diagonal as per the arrows inlet outlet?
