Plumb Posted May 8, 2012 Posted May 8, 2012 What are your thoughts on Egimax sprayed on to squid jigs? For 25 bucks I reckon I'll get some and give it a go. Does any other brand work better? Or I'd $25 better spent on another jig?? Cheers Luke
A.dawg Posted May 8, 2012 Posted May 8, 2012 what size would be a perfect live squid for small 65-70 kings ? Kings 65+ would easily scoff any Aaron squid other than the exceptions of really big ones Small green eyes aren't too common if u get a small greeneyes chuck it out. If u can only get big green eyes strip them up ratty will take anything fresh bigger kings more picky
Plumb Posted May 8, 2012 Author Posted May 8, 2012 Good on the arrows same same on the green eyes cool I'll grab some and give it a go.
CarlRak Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 Never used another brand, so can't comment. But Egimax, that stuff is magical squid potion, it'll turn $25 into hundreds of dollars of strips, mantles, candles, heads and guts.

slinkymalinky Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 I used to catch squid a lot in Sydney and found that Squidgy S factor and also Ultrabite seemed to work as well or better and was a whole lot less expensive. Cheers, Slinky
Nolongeramember Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 I dunno if it works or not but 25 bucks for that tiny little can is a rip!
Mickyd Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 I use egi max. I can't say that I have caught more squid since I have started using it but it does seem to give you confidence and I think that's half the battle Confidence catches more ! I also think I have caught more big squid since I purchased a can. $25 for a can of confidence is relatively cheap. I do however hate it when the wind blows and you get a whiff of it. It stays in your nose for hours.

onearmedfisho Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 (edited) I used to catch squid a lot in Sydney and found that Squidgy S factor and also Ultrabite seemed to work as well or better and was a whole lot less expensive. Cheers, Slinky I used to use S Factor on my jigs and was pretty confident it was working. I also found that after applying it a few times to the same jig it would turn a really dark brown. I tried to clean them but it seems the cloth covering has deteriated... Now i vary rarely use any S factor on my jigs and still (most of the time) end up with a few squid. Keen to try Egimax as ive heard of it but never tried. Dont want to ruin my Yamashita colection thats for sure! So where do you buy Egimax? Most tackle stores? Never seen it...
