I do snell rig for landbased fishing. But bottom hook in the back and top hook on the tail so it swims out. Using thinner hooks improve the length of time and strength of the yakka I either fish gamakatsu octopus or circles in the thin range not live bait hooks. Also owners very thin very sharp very strong favorite hooks now since I've used owner hook my hook up rate on jewwie improved from 20% to 80% big difference especially when jewwies are not an easy fish to hook up

perhaps some more info is required:

what fish are you using as live bait?

what fish are you targeting?

where & how are you fishing?

Try the right sized circle hook straight through the nose.

Run a treble stinger off the shank of the hook using 50-80lb braid or fine wire & pin it near the tail.

It doesn't miss often. :biggrin2:

Cheers,

Grant.
