It's funny.....The water gushing along the flats is not the main body of water...It comes behind an island of sorts and looks like a completely different waterway. The pic shows the water gushing away from me, when in actual fact it was flowing from right to left! 57138[/snapback] There's a couple of spots along that stretch of river there that look similar, I think the doggy island is further upstream and the first pic shows the original main channel. There was a wash out there in about 1980 and the river's high water channel scoured out an old flood way and became the main channel in all but drought conditions - a lot of remediation effort was put in to stabilising the old flood way - as its been a while since I've been there it would be interesting to drop in for a looksee to see how effective the rehab works were.
