Minn Kota I-Pilot

Hi Guys,

We bought our little tinny second hand and as will happen after a year, things are slowly dying . One thing we are thinking of upgrading is our Minn Kota electric. We have a PD1 version and were thinking of doing the search for a Riptide with Ipilot as we do a lot of fishing in Rivers etc, so having the ability to lock onto spots or control drifts would be pretty cool. But we need something that can handle salt as we go into the harbour a lot too!

Does anyone have an Ipilot electric? Is it worth getting?

Also anyone have any idea where some good 2nd hand ones might be found? Unfortunately, we don't really have the 2 grand for a new one.

iPilot is the best investment you will make buddy I am in love with mine. Being able to lock onto a spot at just concentrate on the fishing makes things so much easier and they work a treat!

Yeah I'd love one but the $2000 for one is just a bit too much... maybe I could sell a kidney!?!?

The Ipilot is great, dont know how I mangaged with out it. If you already have a bracket (mounting plate thing) you may find the cost is a couple of hundred less than $2K. Try Huetts our site sponsor for a price.

I have an older minn-kota on the boat with a bracket so should fit that. Just need to win some money to pay for it... Just wish they were easy to find second hand as if the price was right i'd buy one but no one seems to be selling them used!!!

Hi, picking up the phone is the easiest way to contact us and we do not have prices on the website-they change too much to do that. Also alot of people contact me via PM, but to answer your question I doubt you will find any I-Pilot second hand due to being quite new and no need to upgrade because there is nothing better at the moment. A SP version is nothing like $2K and even the top of the line Terrova is under that and I fitted one this morning and they are awesome. If you can find a good non I-Pilot Minn Kota for the right money and the right age, you can add an I-Pilot kit to them for around $600 the last time I ordered one of these.
