ssantoro Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 Friday afternoon finished work early and got to the baiting grounds by 5pm, pulled out the hand line and started hunting Yakkas. Managed to nab 12 of the little suckers, filled the second bucket with water and handed them to my brother in law to look after for the night. He changed the water twice during the night, but unfortunately we forgot about one thing....changing the battery on the aerator by 4am all the Yakkas were dead. We still headed out to Watsons Bay at 4:30am, tried using the Yakkas as bait but nothing touched them...does anyone know why??? or was it just one of those mornings? Just before the sun came up I threw out a Pillie and bang I was on, pulled up a legal lizard that was big enough to go onto my PB board. After that I got one big bite that bent my rod and had the reel screaming, but I lost it before we could see any colour. Overall not a very productive morning but at least I got a feed out of it.
J Hooked Posted June 11, 2012 Posted June 11, 2012 Hey mate. The main thing is that you managed to get out for a fish. I got stuck with this rain. Too bad you lost that screaming run. Would have been great to see what it was.
