Of interest Len Butterworth started out making split cane rods in his garage in Brisbane and took them to local stores himself to see if they would stock and sell them, I had two of his 11ft three piece split cane ocean blackfish (sadly cannot remeber what became of them, I think Dad cut them up for float stems!)I do however have one of his lovely dark brown slow tapered 5126 medium blackfish rods and the 5144 light blackfish in yellow both date late 60's and were dads. Never will part with either!
