FISHLETIC Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 G'day Raiders, I'm set on getting this 4.1 Alleycraft Topender both hull and motor are 2004, but have since been told to be cautious of the weight of the motor plus the fuel and battery aswell as it being a tiller steer so the driver is also over the rear... I intend to evenly distribute the weight ie ; under floor tank, and moving the batteries towards the front or even a centre or side console. I guess the best way is to put it in the water and go for a spin but just curious on what the experienced have to say .... Cheers Geoff

Cheers Geoff Hey Fishletic, the maximum motor weight on the 410/420 Top Ender is 120kgs. A Mercury 40hp 3 stroke both carb and EFI are 93kgs so it should be fine. Dont know about other brands of motors but i dont think it will be an issue...
FISHLETIC Posted June 16, 2012 Author Posted June 16, 2012 Thanks for the replies, ended up getting it .... Very happy 😄
PlayerOne Posted June 17, 2012 Posted June 17, 2012 Thanks for the replies, ended up getting it .... Very happy 😄 Congrats mate!... I've got a 40hp on a 4.2Dory... It is a bit rear heavy (if fishing alone) but i usually fish with 2 or 3 aboard so it evens weight out! You will be glad you went the 40 when the boat is fully loaded!
FISHLETIC Posted June 18, 2012 Author Posted June 18, 2012 Cheers PlayerOne ! Over the moon went out for a run today with the mrs. it went perfect to what I expected, tomorrow going out solo so will notice the difference I guess
