locodave Posted June 16, 2012 Posted June 16, 2012 Hi Guys, Never been. How do they work? My friend believes you just drive on and thats it? Is it operated by people? I tried calling but no one picks up the phone. Does it cost anything? Thanks!
Boog's Boat Posted June 16, 2012 Posted June 16, 2012 Hi Loco, Most Steel recyclers have them and they do charge a nominal fee, which will give you a printed receipt/weight. If you are weighing your boat on trailer drive on unhook from car, drive car off bridge and then they will give you the weight. All the best Nath
BFB Posted June 17, 2012 Posted June 17, 2012 If you want to weigh for rego purposes you will need to located a "Registered Weighbridge". There are a number of them around. Also if you want to get weighed for rego the trailer weight is taken with the trailer by itself, i.e. no boat loaded. Like everything, they will charge for the service.
tuffy Posted June 21, 2012 Posted June 21, 2012 Locodave, any recycling centre will weigh for you at a nominal cost. Just pick a time when they are not busy . Tuffy
