adammac Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 Goodmorning Fishraiders, Long time lurker first time poster. I just moved back up to wollongong way after living in melbourne for a couple of years. It looks like there is finally a break in the weather coming and I was looking to get out after some snapper over the next few days. I was wondering if anyone could share some local knowledge. My options would be to launch out of Port Kembla, Wollongong or Bellambi. I am not trying to take anyones secret spots, but recomendations of where to head, depths, (gps marks would be amazing too)would give me an awesome place to start. Thanks in advance, Adammac
adammac Posted June 19, 2012 Author Posted June 19, 2012 110 views cmon guys I am not after your secret spot, just a general bit of advice would really be appreciated. Is there snapper around the five islands? or is wollongong reef better? bellambi? do I need to head to stanwell to be in with a chance? If it helps i`ll be berleying with pilchard cubes, and fishing unweighted cubes on circle hooks. I`ll also be throwing around a few soft plastics. Please, Regards, Adammac
LeoB Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 G'day adamac We have started seeing some better fish around Sydney. Most falling to unweighted whole pillies on gangs. Mainly in 18-30m. Sorry I cant help with spots down south, only fished land based down there. Cheers Leo
Plumb Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 Mate all I know is to head back up the coast to the humps off stanwell park marks ore on this site. Good luck Luke Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

adammac Posted June 19, 2012 Author Posted June 19, 2012 Yeah I realise this was not the ideal forum to post this but I could not find anywhere that I thought was better suited. And the idea is that I will turn this into a report tomorrow after I have bagged out on Stonking Reds. Regards, Adammac
Chris 55 Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 Hi Adam I hear that the snapper are around from Kembla up so it depends where you want to fish as any of the areas you mention should have snapper on them both Kembla and Bellambi have good boat ramps
J Hooked Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 Hi mate and welcome. You should post in the fishing chat rather than in the reports when asking advice. My mates bro inlaw goes off Belambi and does very well. I haven't fished there myself though. Also the humps off Stanwell park as stated. It's a bit of a distance. You will find the Coordinates in the forum along with other places. J
joshot15 Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 Try Bandit, about 5km straight out from Scarbrough beach not sure of exact co-ordinates but a bit of searching on the net might reveal them.
niicholas.nguyen Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 Sorry mate, Im land based and if I can't offer any help then I don't open my mouth (so not to get your hopes up).
Jewhunter Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 The high number of view and the small number of reply's most likely relates to people looking at your post thinking it is a report. Exactly. Moved to chat. Grant.
trentarena89 Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 I fished up at Wattamolla with reports of big red. I only fish landbased and got one on my first day there, I think if you head to the mouth of the bay there should be some. Thats the reports I've been given form a few of the Wollongong tacklshops
elferoz777 Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 I have heard that there are big reds of the rocks at Woonona beach. I have never caught one land based but managed to get my first on a charter boat last weekend. I believe the rocks near Bulli might be housing a few and am going to try my bream spot this week in the hope they are also there. Will let you know how this goes for me and if it doesn't completely suck I will let you know next time and out and show you.
