plankton Posted June 22, 2012 Posted June 22, 2012 Set out at the reasonable hour of 9am. There were only a dozen cars at Tunks. Not surprising given 25 knott Westerlies predicted. Reached the bait grounds as another boat was releasing a soapy. Managed a tank full of Yakkas and a few Slimies before the wind hit at 11am. Our options were limited so after a quick bash near the Spit Bridge we made our way into Middle Harbour. Here conditions were better. Down went the livies and results were a 65cm Flatty, a few Trevally, a Salmon and a small King. Surprisingly, the King fell to a size 1/0 hook intended for live bait. Couldn't find a Jon Dory despite the jelly-bean sized Yakka.
rjc123 Posted June 22, 2012 Posted June 22, 2012 Good effort mate! MH has been a little quiet the last week or so, so you did pretty well. I saw a few John Dory up around the moorings in Sugarloaf as well as Balmoral
sydangler Posted June 23, 2012 Posted June 23, 2012 Nice work mate. Its funny how often kings smash baits intended for a yakka. Where did you find the slimies if u don't mind me asking?
zen801 Posted June 23, 2012 Posted June 23, 2012 Hi Brett, Mate we went out from pittwater today and conditions were good but fishing was slow. Plenty of whales around and loads of small flatties with one keeper landed for dinner and a big one lost. Heaps of big slimies around Barronjoey Headland. No taker on a big livey. Since Rosie has been closed I have only fished MH once. Once reopened going to do a few jewie sessions so might see you out there. Mike
plankton Posted June 26, 2012 Author Posted June 26, 2012 The Slimies were caught in front of Clontarf. Good to hear that you are still getting amoungst them Mick. Give me a yell if you are looking for a crew.
