mrsswordfisherman Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 28 June 2012 McMahons Point Wharf closed this weekend for repairs Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) will carry out repair work on the timber structure and concrete deck at McMahons Point wharf this weekend (30 June and 1 July). The important work is for the installation of a new fender pile and the replacement of damaged sections of the concrete wharf deck. It will mean an interruption to ferry services at McMahon's Point wharf from midnight Friday 29 June to midnight Sunday 1 July. SydneyFerries customers should plan ahead by using the North Sydney Interchange for train and bus services all weekend or alight at Milson's Point wharf. SydneyFerries Customer Assistance staff will be present at McMahon's Point wharf this weekend to provide travel advice to customers. Customers can plan alternative transport for this weekend by calling 131500 or visit131500.com.au. ATransport for NSW spokesperson said there would be noise associated with the repairs during Saturday morning but this would lessen during Saturday afternoon and Sunday. "The work is crucial and we thank people for their patience," the spokesperson said. RMS is responsible for the maintenance of all 49 commuter ferry wharves in Sydney Harbour. Workto significantly improve McMahons Point Wharf is scheduled in 2013 as part of the Sydney Harbour Commuter Wharf Upgrade Program.
