Amir92 Posted July 1, 2012 Posted July 1, 2012 (edited) Hi Raiders, First ever report hope im doing this right! Still a fairly new fisherman with only 6months worth of experience and me and some mates have built up a passion after a recent trip up to QLD, always trying to get the lines out when we can. We decided to go camping with a group of friends for the weekend at Bonnie Vale and thought it would be a good chance to get the rods out and try the new area. First day we got there we decided to go on a walk and find some decent spots where it was viable to fish on, found some locals there that had no luck, but insisting at the best of time some bream can be found under the bridge at the Basin. Headed out Just before sunrise from the tents on Saturday morning and left with 2 decent bream 27cm and 29cm, decided to leave it at that so we didnt miss out on havin breaky, considering there was so many of us. In the Afternoon we hit up Wattamolla Beach a short drive away and tried the rocks on the beach with nothing legal, only 2 small flatties and a beautifully coloured parrotfish which all went back and left it at that. Had a great time with even better scenery, but did manage to see a lot of fish jumping fish in the river back in the Basin leading out to the bay but didnt get a good look to identify the fish, even at night time these suckers where jumping out of the water one after another! Any ideas as to what fish? Heading down somewhere closer to home in the eastern suburbs on wednesday still undecided hopefully something nice to report back --Amir Edited July 1, 2012 by Amir92
joel.pringle Posted July 1, 2012 Posted July 1, 2012 Sounds like a fun trip, even if the fish were hiding. I'd imagine the fish in the river would have been mullet?
