Samaki Rods

Looking for a new light spinning rod for casting plastics and can across some of the samaki rods, in particular the Zing, Vamp and Zection. Has anyone had any experience fishing with the lighter models of these rods?

Or can anyone suggest any 2-4kg 7 foot rods worth having a look at around $200?

Any replies would be great

Hey mate,

Not much experience with Samaki but I purchased a 9ft Shimano Nexave about 4 months ago and am very happy with it, it casts up to 40g I think, but I can easily get away with 50g metals.

They do a 7ft version also. Only around $100-$120 if memory serves me correct. Very reliable rod.

Hey mate, I have a 25lb zing for spinning. Great rod for the price.

My mates have tested all the samaki rods in nz with good results. Plus the maker is a local guy so you can get great deals from most shops.

I have the 7ft 4-8lb vamp and its a great rod! My favourite for bream to sambos. I would highly recommend it.

I have the Daiwa Spellbinder model 702ULFS 7'/2pc 1-3kg 1-4g Ultra Light Spin. Can't rate it highly enough. I use it for soft plastic and sometimes blades targeting bream. I have hooked into large trevally and kings and it has handled it with ease, can't fault it.
