On sat hit up the harbour with ddaniel in the boat we had a late start hitting the water at two oclock with salted pillies and fresh Endeavour prawns for bait the plan was too fish sow and pigs on the run in tide but first we wanted some squid for bait to tempt a jewfish so we hit our squid grounds with us both using yamashita warm jacket jigs me with a 2.5gram jig and daniel with a 3.5 gram jig well what we experienced in the next hour was pandemonium with squid after squid coming on board with two and three hookups happening on each drift over the beds resulting in team work being needed to land each squid and get them in the live well which overflowed into the boat with about forty litres of water under the floor as i was emptying the boat via the bilge pump the squid shut down as it was full of ink and coming out black end result being ten squid kept biggest measuring 90cm candle length and 60cm hood length and smallest being a arrow squid at 40cm overall length

We left after two hours to go up the lane cove river to turn a squid into a jewfish but on the run back the transducer decided to split itself in half resulting in the loss of the sounder so we called it quits back to the ramp at 11 30 i got home at 1 30am and into bed at 2am for a 5 30 wakeup to meet luderick angler scrubby for a blackfish west off the bridge i arrived at 7am to find the boys fishing with adrian ( squid jig) after introductions and a chat i rigged up and put a bait out for no touches after 1/2 an hour decision was made to move so we go to option two to find others at this spot so onto option three which turned into a cracker black fish session with all four of us landing some quality blackfish over the next five hours i got to christen my new alvey with a pb blackfish on bait at 42 cms with all fish caught above 35cms and adrian finishing the day with the biggest blackfish landed at 43cms we dropped about ten fish between us with royce landing three fish on the fly rod we kept fifteen blackfish between us too royce and paul a pleasure as always and to adrian it was a pleasure meeting you and fishing with you laughs were had by all looking forward to the next trip

Hey Trevor,

Yes it was a great days fishing with you too and the fish is definitely a treat, thanks for your contribution to the take home feed.

Man I don't know how you managed to fish in those shorts when the temp was a mere 14 degrees in the morning. I was freezing.

So when the Mrs. lets me out again I am very keen on a squidding outing if you are. Keep well and all the best.

PS! Good luck on the golf next week.

cheers

Yeh it was a cracker of a session we had Trev. Started off slow but once

the burley kicked in it was all hands on deck & blackies were coming in

thick & fast & what a way to christen your new reel. A PB blackie, you

couldn't ask for any thing better than that. And as usual the company

was great, some good laughs which at times I was missing downs because

I was laughing so much. Looking forward to our next session.

I also like to thank Royce and Paul for showing me the finer art in Luderick fishing. It has been just phenomenal catching quality fish. Well this time the good old 7 foot Fenwick 1 piece did the job and managed to hold onto most fish and did not get abused as the guys thought I would. To Paul, well all that playing around in the garden out the back yard seems to be paying off so I am sure we will all let you net our fish again…. No dropping any fish at the netting stage …. Well except Royces one….hahaha

Royce thanks for the full service of providing the knowledge, Bait, Fish, Filets and humor.

Cheers
