Well today we managed 1 from 2 around the 70kg mark. There were quite a few fish caught & a lot lost.

The boys on the Grommit got 3 & Stevo & Macca aboard Huntress got a 4 way hookup with only the two of them onboard & managed to land all 4 with 1 weighing 72kg. We got our first fish on a scent blazer lure as you can see in the picture.

Interested to hear how others went.

Well done ReefMagic crew  Your outstanding strike rate contines. Rob on "Marquis" said they lost a good Bluefin 120kgs plus at the side of the boat after a gaff issue :ranting2:

Lets hope the bite continues....

Hi Damo

We got one about 50kg today and were close to huntress when they hooked up out past the thousand fathom line south east of browns. There was lots of bait out there up high but scattered and you had to cover plenty of ground to find fish. There was a black alloy boat hooked up not long after huntress and we got our fish close to dark. If the bait holds they should hang around this week.

Well done Mike and Damo - cracker start to the season for you guys.

Big high five also to Cammo, Dave, Hulme, Grazer and Mark aboard TINTOLA - the boys nailed 4 today and lost 2.

2 Went over 80, 2 over 35 and one of the two that the boys dropped was called as being bigger than anything they had seen for the day.

Went looking for the cold water. Could not find any. Didn't matter. We managed to hook up on four simultaneously halfway between Heatons and Browns in 19.2 degrees water. Never seen anything like it. Managed to hang on to one. No birds. No visible bait until the water exploded around us. A sudden huge commotion with sauris and fin everywhere. These guys can manage the most amazing aerials. We were using for the first time one of those Scent Blazer Bowling Ball Teasers stuffed with Mackeral. Not sure if it made the difference but we will be using it again. That's for sure.
