GT Popping Vanautu

Hi everyone,

I am off to Vanautu GT popping / and dogtooth chasing in November.

I am looking at purchasing some Gear. Any Ideas ? best poppers/stick baits ? etc. Also i am thinking of buying a stella 20,000 and a Live fibre TX Venom 7,6FT 10PE rod. Do u know what would be as good as this setup ? for cheaper ?

Josh that set up sounds pretty good.

I have a Saltiga 6500 expedition and a 60kg Tokara stik by Smiths and it works fanatstically with poppers and stickbaits and is loaded with 130lb braid and no big popper stick is cheap as the reels are over a grand each and you get what you pay for and IMHO you cant scrimp on the big gear for GTS and Doggies.

Good stik baits are the ASWB ones in 90 or 120mm ss which is slow sinking and the colours are amazing and they catch fish and for poppers any of the well known brands including the nomad ones and the rooster poppers by halco.
