Headed down to middle harbour yesterday with a mate yesterday. Stuck two live mullet out and started cubing some pillies and we each had a rod rigged with unweighted cubes.

First sign of life in the trail and I dropped my cube and a solid salmon smashed it. As mine came up my mate spotted his mate following him up and dropped his bait in and we are on to a double hook up. I get mine up and quick release and my mate said something was following his salmon so I dropped in another cube and hooked into a big bonnie we landed both fish the bonnie went 60cm both salmon were around the 70cm mark. Nothing else happened so we packed up and headed home.

Up towards bantry bay. I saw one there last week. You pick up the odd one right through winter in the harbour but they certainly aren't that common and I would target them in winter.
