Hi raiders,

One of my favourate places for a fish is culburra, ( boat ramp and near the lighthouse,) I havnt been down there for years now. Anyone fished there lately? From memory, it was always worth the drive from sydney. Any fresh reports would be appreciated.

Cheers.

i was down there 2 weeks ago.

fished from the beach - found a nice gutter just off sunshine st.

fished for an hour, from 4:30pm till dusk, on the run in tide, using standard surf rig (gang pillies).

pulling in good sized salmon. landed 6 in an hour but left them biting as i was frozen and the wind was up ! (wasnt plesant, but when your catching fish who cares)

had 2 rods but could only rig up one as i didnt have time to rig the second - kept getting smashed :biggrin2:

The lighthouse you are talking about. Is it near the entrance to Greenwell point? I know the break wall from Comerong island off Greenwell point has produced many a solid Jew. If you where to head there, drop into Macullums tackle world at Nowra for some info as I know the macallum brother invested a lot of time into Jew from there and one of the brothers created a spreadsheet of variables each time they fished the area looking for a pattern. I would imagine that if any one could give you the hot tip on that spot it would be them.

Yeah, the lighthouse is the one opposite the breakwall. I got my record salmon and jackets from the ocean side off the ledge. I was down wollongong today with the handbreak, the water looked great! I wished i took a rod with me. Hopefully the weather will be the same tomorrow. Heading to culburra for the day.

Will post a report tomorrow with the results.
