Just a quick one to see if anyone has had a crack at the browns blue eye / gem fish population in the last couple of weeks ?

Or is everyone to focused on the tuna time !!!

hi got blue eye and gemmies on browns with ocean perch mixed in on 7/7/12

Didnt go out this weekend however have been getting blue eye and gemfish over the last couple of weeks. Blue eye up to 13kg and a nice gemmie of around 8-9kgs. We stopped each time after we got 2 or 3 fish and started cubing for tuna. You should not go home empty handed as long as you can get to the bottom.

Unfortunately by the look of the currents it may be hard to bottom bash brown soon

We went to Browns on Monday the 9th and bag out on some good size Gemmies

Heading out tomorrow from botany,will let you known if sucessful .

thanks guys will watch the weather and think about heading out on Wednesday.

General don't have to much trouble finding bottom, one advantage of the small boat is being able to stay above the line. Only trouble I ever have at browns is getting past the gem fish to find the blue eye (then getting them past the seals)
