nathsh Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 Guys I live about a 5 min walk from the Parramatta Ferry wharf and have had some success catching carp and sea mullet there. A few people tell me that you can also catch jewies up there as well, does anyone know if this is true? Also has anyone tried flicking har bodies on the freshwater side for Bass? If any locals wants some company PM me and ill come down for a flick with you. Cheers Shannan
zaki10 Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 Hey mate I have heard people pull up jewies but that will be near the ferry station at homebush bay but near the rydalmere side. Never heard of them being pulled upper river I usually go there for a flick and catch monster whiting, bream & flat head. Cheers Zac
bump73 Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 Definately bass on the freshwater side as well as silver perch. I've got bass around dawn and dusk in summer by casting around the lily pads with small surface lures. Haven't tried in winter but was catching them last summer. I even saw a bream caught in the freshwater side of the weir so the fish ladders they have installed to let the bass breed are obviously allowing fish to move around. Ben
nathsh Posted July 26, 2012 Author Posted July 26, 2012 thanks guys Ive pulled a decent breamo from near the ferry wharf and seen some small mud crabs. Hopefully this means this part of the river is coming back to life!
