Gday guys... well nothing to report from us as we are getting some maintenance done on the motors & gearboxes. No major problems but a general overhaul to keep things in top shape.

Well the reports are trickling in and a more yellowfin are being caught with most fish being in the 25-35kg range although a couple of bigger fish have been caught. Most of the fish are still on the troll and from Browns out to the 500 fathom area.

Unfortunately the weather has stopped a lot of people from heading out but the boys on the sailfish "Reel Game" lost a 80kg bluefin beside the boat on Tuesday and marked more fish on the sounder. Also the boys on Mistress were jigging & hooked something solid amoungst the albies & 1.5 hours later got a large bronze whaler to the boat. A lot of boats are reporting plenty of big mako's which is great news for the SGFC Monster Mako competition in 2 weeks.

There are still plenty of albacore about which are great fun on light tackle - try some plastics for them on your snapper outfits.

Good luck to those that get out.

Cheers

I am heading out tomorrow Damo so we shall see how we go. The bluefin run has set a pretty high bar so fingers crossed. I'll post some feedback tomorrow.

Unfortunately for us we won't be getting back out till mid next week when the work has been completed.

The fish are all on the troll & in the general browns area, some inside, some outside... albies mixed in with the odd yellowfin. For all the guys that have been chasing the bluefin running bigger lures now might want consider downsizing lures.

Good luck.

We went out today for a mixed bag. The cruise out to Browns was reasonable in the morning but it quickly turned foul as the wind kicked in earlier and stronger than advertised. We ended by boating 7 albies to 8kgs a few stripeys all on the troll just east and south of browns, deep divers doing most of the damage. We marked a few schools of fish but did not see a sbt or yft. There were four boats there cubing in the sloppy seas. Conditions on the way back were ordinary so was slow going. Those guys who left after us would have had a slow trip back. Water was 20.2 most of the time.

Good day but the yft prize eluded us.

We went out as planned yesterday arvo. Fortunately went in my mates Maritimo 55 and not the Whaler, because coming back was very ordinary.

We cubed albies and 2 jelly bean 10kg yft. lost something much bigger on a ballon bait, don't think it was a mako as didn't jump.

Weather looks bad for next 5 days, so hope we can get another crack before the full moon.

Cheers,

Jamie

Damo/Boys,

Tomorrrow - to go or not to go what do you reckon? Tomorrow looks marginal. Whilst I've got a 25ft Boston, not a big fan of pushing back into slop for 3+ hours. Whilst I am keen to get back out to Browns and beyond dont want to get pumped. Any advice would be appreciated.

I'd call on an indoor sports day mate - hit the pub for pool, darts or a punt I reckon - looks ordinary till next Friday

If you do happen to go I hope you land a cracker - you'd deserve it for having a go out there in that!

Yesterday we went out in a mates 47 Riv and it was slow going coming home at 9kts with plenty of water hitting the flybridge clears!. I'm staying in until this wind and seas blow through.
