bluefin Posted September 16, 2012 Posted September 16, 2012 Really needed a weekend away and haven't been fishing since last November so booked a cabin overnight. Had a look at the jetty Saturday afternoon, mud flats almost to the end and lots of oyster clumps, a few boats and pylons at the end in deeper water. Woke up Sunday morning grabbed the Sp rod and a packet of critters and S factor. Worked my way out to the pylons past a few mullet schools where I found hoards of small Tailor. 1 went just on 30 c/m which was good fun. Then vertical jigging in between 2 boats I hooked another, no too fat to be a tailor, may be a pike? no wrong shape, lifted it up onto the jetty, a 37 c/m Whiting!! My first on an SP. Then came a couple of small Bream and a good Flathead which bit me off halfway up onto the jetty. All in all a good morning. Howard.
