Mutt Posted September 19, 2012 Posted September 19, 2012 Hey! A bit of help needed, going to the lovely Sussex Inlet over the long weekend, while I've always had a bit of success there, it's always been on bought bait. I'd love to gather my own nippers/poddies, are they easy to find? Any help greatly appreciated! Tight lines...
bharris Posted September 19, 2012 Posted September 19, 2012 Ive only fished the main basin poddies and garfish arnt hard to find.dont know about nippers but Sent from my GT-I9100T using Tapatalk 2
jordy Posted September 19, 2012 Posted September 19, 2012 I stayed at the entrance to sussex last xmas and one afternoon hit the flats with the yabby pump as the lures were not producing. After about 40 mins had 6 yabbies very tough going.A local told me they had been decimated in that area for a while just like the pippis where on the beach.Hope you have more luck mate as with anywhere local knowledge is the key.Might pay to buy some bait and see if they will clue you in on likely areas. Its a beautiful spot that fishes so much better outside of school holidays.
Mutt Posted September 19, 2012 Author Posted September 19, 2012 Thanks so much! Will pack the bait pump just in case and hopefully get a few poddies to catch a few spring lizards. One of the downsides of being a teacher is I always have to fish school holidays...
