drven Posted November 17, 2012 Posted November 17, 2012 Hi Ive started to have problems with my sounder Humminbird 587. The sounder signal seems to have lost its power, see the photos below see what you make of it. The unit is coming upto 3 years old now and I cant make out what it may be, im thinking at this stage its the transducer. The first photo is with the sensitivity all the way up and the second is with the sensitivity as normal range. When the sounder used to work the bottom image could be clearly seen as would be considered normal operation. but now it has real problems even displaying the depth. I have checked the following: - cable full length - scrubbed the transducer clean (although not dirty) - checked the connection to the unit, including plugging cables in separate without mount I dont know what to try next other than taking it to a shop. So im interested to see what you think. I was of the opinion that transducers were pretty much bulletproof but maybe not. Thanks

Best bet would to take in the transducer and cable into your nearest shop and let them deal with it through the rep. Let us know how it goes.
