Hi guys

This Fishing report from The Entrance is mainly from local retired friends who fish most days while I'm working. Good luck to them.

The flathead are picking up, reports of nice catches in the South Channel and main Channel near Pelican Island using soft plastic's.

Also the North Channel a few came in near Three Way's with live poddie mullet as the preferred bait. ( Lano's not Bullies )

Black fish are still being caught in the run to the see especially when the swell is up and the tide is rising, soft weed or cabbage the best baits.

The big flatties in the run haven't come on yet but when they do it's live poddies under a float.

I caught 2 nice Estuary Perch ( 38mm ) on the wall floating live prawns ( same as your Black Fish rig )they will take live shrimp but the prawns work the best,

They must be alive if you put a dead one on they won't touch it.

No reports of any good Whiting catches yet either in the lake or on the beach. There are still some nice Bream taking variety of baits at night under the bridge.

Not really worth making a special trip this way yet unless you want to catch some prawns. It's been a great season so far. The last couple of darks have resulted

in excellent catches of School Prawns.Just using scoop nets catches of up to 15 kilos in 1hour.They ran that hot you didn't need a light and the net was just held between your legs.

The Pro's caught 2 tonne that night. Now a freshly cooked Tuggerah Lakes prawn is hard to beat.

The Dredge is still working on the Eastern side of the Bridge, It should be finished soon

Good report of the lake but come school holidays it'll all be fished out of legal and undersized fish within a few weeks as it is every year or school holidays.

Agreed. More fisheries need to patrol the lake land based and on the water especially around the summer holidays. People just don't understand the size limits and regulations put into place.

THIS....

Being a local... and not to sound racist but - have noted on more occasions than I can count on 1 hand within the past 2 weeks "ethnic" anglers working around the northern end of the bridge where the bbq's are hauling catch-bags of bream & flathead BOTH in the 20-30cm range (bream being 20 odd juvies & flatties being maybe 30 if that).

S**ts me to tears and would say something but decide not to due to repeated threats of violence by multiple people amongst other things (yet again, cops never arrive intime).

I've also noted the fisheries (easily identified by their UTES/VANS) simply looking or poking their heads around a corner and simply leaving.

MORE FISHERIES PLEASE!!!! Where is my fishing license money going???!?!?!

/end rant

It's sad but so so true. My wife's olds live not far from there and we visit quite often over different times over the year .and at xmass time you can't get near the north east entrance area it's packed out . This is totally fine but people need to PIC UP THERE RUBBISH. And look after there country . It's so sad to see such a nice place stuffed by rubbish. And such a good place for little ones to catch a fish. Shame to see it stuffed at xmass......

Hey mate, a few weeks ago me and my cousin got a good bag of whiting on live prawns in the lake. Might've just been that night but a few were getting pulled in

Definitely agree with the need for a larger need of fisheries in the area. Everytime i go fishing i see undersize fish being put into buckets and keeper nets and it pi$ses me off so bad
