Blackfish in the national park

Was invited to go fishing with Centrepin (Geoff) yesterday in the national park.

He was kind enough to show me the ropes when trying to catch blackish as I had no luck with this before and needed some serious guidance (as I am sure Geoff will attest to).

In total we pulled in about 12 fish all decent size.

Admittedly I only pulled in 3 of the 12 but I know have some basic skills that will help me move on to catching more next time.

Felt some hard pulls which I am imaging were Drummer but I lost them so will never know.

Was a pretty damn good experience and I must say if Geoff had not have mentored me I would still be a blackie virgin with no hope of catching any in the near future.

I never knew how important the presentation of bait was to these species and also the use of the float.

Now I can at least say I have successfully bagged a few .

im also very green when it comes to blackfish,bagged 1/2 dozen in three outings but still love it.

recently was given a alvey centre pin but still have no idea how to cast it... lol.
