hucho hucho Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 Hi Raiders, Hit the Berowra Waters yesterday afternoon with my mate Wayne. It was very windy with periods of rain. Very quiet, no speed boats or jetski. Our intention was to try my new addition, electric motor Minn Kota Riptide ST with i-pilot. This was second time I used it and I love it. It is so easy learn to use it that we had enough time to successfully try our new metal blades. I caught very nice 74cm flatty on Switchblade TT 1/2oz 'Gold Noggin'. Unfortunately it was hooked very deep inside, was badly injured and could not be released back to its world. Gear was very light, 3kg graphite rod, 2500 reel, 3kg braid with 4.5kg leader. We love these metal vibes. You can feel what is happening under the surface.
BMac Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 Great fish mate. I seem to be having more luck with the gold this year too. I'm not sure why? It's funny how a colour comes and goes....
hucho hucho Posted December 14, 2012 Author Posted December 14, 2012 Yes, Gold and red. Main reason could be overcast weather and not very clear water.
