After finalizing xmas presents down kogarah way decided too hit the rocks for some blackfish but the wind and swell stopped that so collected some bait and went too plan b.

Moved into botany bay and mixed up burley and threw some out too watch which way it drifted with the run in tide about halfway too the bottom the blackfish started moving through the descending burley thought to myself this could be a good session i was wrong it was sensational.

On my first drift the float rockets into the depths lift the rod and feel weight play it out and land a fish of 35cms .rebait and cast out again float goes down set the hook and after a short fight another fish landed in the keepers net.

Next drift resulted in a bite off so rerig with a new hook and out again too repeat the drift which resulted in a down but no hookup resulting from it for the next three hours till the top off the tide this pattern repeated itself numerous times with twenty four fish landed biggest going 38cms and the average size being about 35 cms.

Over the session would off lost about fifteen fish too pulled hooks and bite offs needed too releader three times so that was the only downside for the day.

Thirteen fish made the keepers net with all fish released after photos taken left the blackfish biting after the tide topped out and the wind changed direction changing the drift.

Cheers trevor.

What a top session you had Trevor. There's nothing like watching a float that has a lot of downs when black fishing. Beats bottom bashing 10 times to Sunday. Regards Jeff

Been trying to find a good blackfish spot in botany bay for ages, any chance of a hint? I fish from a yak or landbased.
