lurespinner
i troll (and cast) sometimes for bonito, tailor and salmon im not sure if i should use a short wire trace before my rapalas and other lures will this stop the fish biting or affect the action in any way?? because i dont want to lose my new rapalas cheers tom Edited July 23, 2005 by lurespinner
Bashir
I reckon scrap the wire idea alltogether. Just run some 20-3lb trace as a maximum to your lures and you should be ok. Bonito, tailor and salmon are all clean fighting fish so you won't lose many once you hook them, even on light gear, just take your time and you will be fine. Ken A
If you must use wire try using a set up without swivels /clips etc as they are very visible & put fish off. I suggest getting some coated wire (heatweld type) & attaching that via a small loop to the lure then either forming another loop to attach the line to or tying the line to the wire using an albright knot.
