josamill Posted December 28, 2012 Posted December 28, 2012 Will get a photo up soon, but cracked an 83cm flattie in Tuross River at 10.30am this morning and I was stoked! Had just landed a 55cm beauty on a squidgy when, for the 3rd time in 2 sessions my other rod, with a humble pillie tail, went off big time. On all three occasions, with 10lb braid and a 14lb leader I really struggled to reign the fish in....the first time I was spooled, the second time dehooked, but this time, I stayed with it, and up to the side of the boat after 10 mins came a wobegong like flattie at 83cm. Photos which I will post, then off she swam off in good condition. the fish was caught in about 4 feet of water a fair way up the river. i'll be back tomorrow.....love holidays!
josamill Posted December 30, 2012 Author Posted December 30, 2012 Couple of snaps of the 83cm lizard. Lost another biggie this morning. 12lb leader, needed more.
Choicebro Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 Awesome mate, persistence pays off. Well done. Cheers Bro
