Best way to rig a live mullet for the surf?

Hey guys, i have been sending out live mullet in the surf but find they don't last long. I usually just hook them through the nose. After about 10 minuets they are nearly dead...When i hook them behind the neck they seem to die even quicker and hooking in the tail the mullet usually comes off in the cast. What is the best way to rig a 15cm mullet off a surf beach????

I would use a double snell with one hook just behind the dorsal fin and one on the tail..

Or you could put one hook on the tail and then a couple of half hitches with the line to secure the fish..

Thats my suggestion though please note I aint the worlds best livie fisher

I hook the mullet through the bottom jaw and push the hook up until it comes out through the nostril. Regards Jeff]
