Volitan
Hi blackfishing people. I've been doing a bit of blackfishing lately, and it hasnt escaped my notice that sometimes its a bit hard to get the weed to stay on the hook. This made me wonder why I've never read or heard of a reference to using bait elastic when fishing with green weed. Is there a reason for this, or do some people use it ? Cheers Arron
chriseels2010
hi there, I haven't heard of anyone using an elastic. You only really need a thumb nail size of weed on the hook, what is the quality of your cabbage is it leafy or stringy? if its leafy you shouldn't have too much trouble... luderick -angler
Its all in the art of baiting the hook! Daichii 2174 in size 6 or 8 the way t obait weed is win it up the hook one way ver the eye and back down the opposte way make sure you put the hook point through the midlle ofthe strands before starting the wind up and put the hook point through the same way on the finish then hold the bend and twist gently so it palits and bites should sit nicely
macman
Or you can use a half hitch over the top of the bait, works for all weed types, doesn't in any way affect catch rates. Matt
