EGK24A Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 I have a few questions about squidding. Although I havent been doing to bad I also havent been doing great. Fishing in Sydney harbour from the shore and have managed around 2 - 5 squid throughout a 12 hour period... Manage to get about 20+ yakkas though! Just wondering what your techniques are, what rods and reel combos you use and what jigs everyone uses and why. What makes you successful at squidding? (please dont say a boat lol. I don't have access to one and probably won't for a long time) Also is it possible to catch squid from the beach? I have tried to do some research but havent had much luck to find people catching squid from the beach. The mrs wants to go with the family and spend time at the beach so I am also going to try get some fishing time in! wohoo!
moeycq Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 If you don't get any action within 30-60 minutes, move on to another spot. Presuming you are squidding at one of the harbour wharves, there should be an alternative spot nearby.
