Fishfan85
Went for a fish yesterday in Swansea channel with my BF and his 7 yr old daughter started off in a tinny drifting over the sand flats his daughter caught a small fish first then wasn't long til she hooked herself a nice table size flattie however as she is still a beginner in the fishing world got very excited and lifted the fish out of the water where it thrashed and snapped off much to her disappointment. It was getting dark and decided to head in to shore after a quick bite to eat we went to try a quick fish off the bank on the coon island reserve opposite the boat ramp I decided to throw into the channel still using light tackle and a servo frozen prawn and let it drift with the tide before long I felt a few tight pulls on the line and so I brought my line in to check the prawn there was a dead weight on the end as I kept reeling in and lifting felt A few head shakes and thought I had a stingray after a few minutes up popped the head of this beautiful lizard and it was all on from there race to get the net and managed to land the beauty a 72cm monster the biggest I have ever caught it was such a rush on light gear and only just hooked in the lip

Fishfan85
It was just a basic running sinker rig with a light sinker and about 9lb trace

Fishfan85
I do use soft plastics as well as hard body lures but at the time I was using prawns I'm not really a Berkeley fan I bought the shirt more so for protection from the sun it's a bonus that its comfy too as for the rod and reel outfit it is mine it's an okuma outfit I got at a bargain price so couldn't pass it up
