PASSING OF MY HERO

It is with sadness that I post this topic.

Yesterday at 8.25pm my father passed away and is now at peace from Cancer.

This man to me was a hero.

He had a wonderful life enjoying firstly his 5 surviving children, and later meeting the lady that stole his heart and would spend the rest of his life with. (including her 7 children).

About 4 years ago, he survived an horrific vehicle accident which left him a partial quadraplegic, 12 months ago he broke his hip and came through with flying colours. I thought this man was invincible. How wrong I was.

2 weeks ago he was admitted to Palliative Care with a very agressive cancer and was in a lot of pain. Now he is at peace.

So sorry to hear of your loss, Cath - you are right - he sounds an AMAZING man - and best of all, well loved by all his family. The good memories will fast outweigh the more recent sad bits.

our love to you

my condolences cath, I lost my dad about 5years ago and I still miss him. I was extremely lucky to have my dad out in the boat with me a couple of months prior to his passing and he witnessed me hooking and landing a 22lb jewfish and the memory of him being there with me will stay with me forever. I am sure that you too have some great memories of your dad also as he sounds like a wonderful man.

good luck with the future and keep your chin up- time has a way of healing.
