Benji-martin
Hey Everyonne, Went to Balmoral on Saturday night and caught about 15 of these sharks. Can someone tell me what kind of shark it is? Martin Edited February 4, 2013 by Shark'od
SargeRX8
I can't see any pictures but at balmoral you're gonna get plagues of either shovel nose, port jackson, banjo shark. Is there a photo we can't see?

SargeRX8
My response to that picture: What the **** is that? That looks like one no good up port jackson. Its a part of the heterodontiformes. A shark which has that body and fin structure/count. But what kind, no idea. I looked on google, something similar came up as a horn shark. It also looks a little fat around the body. Might be loaded with eggs. Edited February 4, 2013 by SargeRX8

nbdshroom
Might not be Blind shark from this website (more northern distribution) - http://www.daff.qld.gov.au/28_12483.htm My wild guess is a type of carpet shark as dorsal fin is behind pelvic fin. This rules out horned sharks (PJ)

Cheers mate, Never heard of that kind of shark before haha. They can't be that blind they took every bait in the water, prawns, pillies and live bait haha. bream111
We get plenty of these at Seal Rocks and on the outside bolders at Hawks Nest. I know them as dog sharks.
Jewhunter
Blind or dog shark. Commonly caught when fishing for jews after a big sea. Seems to wash them out of their hidey holes. Cheers, Grant.
