possumms Posted February 19, 2013 Share Posted February 19, 2013 Hit the ramp about 530am Monday don't really know the bay that well so head out to the heads just inside to the south tried for some bait the got a few squid but no slimies or yakks so I the run around the bay with still no luck so I headed out to 12mile.with a few skirts in to picked up 2 skippys Once out the reef I put down a line 80lb brad with big baits only to feel 2 bites then my line went limp pull in to fine my sinker and weight font so on with another rig only to have this happen again another 4 times so I went back to the 12mile reef boy to catch my first dollie boy was that fun I caught 13 biggest 89cm all released then headed back to Botany Bay with some skirts out to pick up 1 more skippy and lost something very big to hard to drive boat and fight a large fish so I found out anyways great day out Just wish I know where to catch bait and more squid in the bay Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Serena Posted February 19, 2013 Share Posted February 19, 2013 Sounds like you had a run in with the jackets! Just like everyone else. You can catch bait at the end of the terminal wall. I use bread mixed with water til it's mushy then add 30ml of tuna oil per loaf. Once it's mixed bang it in the freezer. Very good burley for yakkas and Slimies.
