Narralakes
Busy day today with family duties, so didnt get the boat out, but managed a quick 1.5 hours down at the lake. There was a slight NW blowing for most of the day, but when I got down the lake it had virtually stopped. I hadnt waded down the lake for ages, probably because I want to make use of the tinny. But since time was limited I thought a wade down at the caravan park channel was the deal. Hight tide at 4 pm and not much wind I thought it would be nice for a swoff. Anyhow, with plenty of bread bureleyed out the mullet were on the chew straight away, finished up with about 12 ranging from 20 - 35 cms and dropped about another 5 on bread fly with my Fenwick 5 wt, top fun. Hope everyone else had fun this weekend, see you at the salmon social next week. Edited July 30, 2005 by Narralakes
bluefin
Great sport, I love catching larger mullet like that. Hope to be down your way tuesday, will try and give the lake a go on the way home! Howard.
Narralakes
Will you be flyfishing Howard? If you go to the channel, wade out and to where the weed bed is straight out from the clearing. From 4.30 - 5.30 pm, just b4 and on dusk, I reckon is the best time. You might find some blackfish and bream there as well. Have fun!
bluefin
The boat arrived on thursday,( Enterprise Marine) but the trailer didn't? So I am hoping that by tuesday I might be lucky! The motor has been sent to Ballina to be fitted on to a swinging arm on the back of the camper, so Electric only for a few weeks. The lake is the obvious choice for a christening! Will be in the middle of the day though. Will take the fly rod and some bread Barbara can try some SP's. Howard.
Narralakes
Mullet pull strong Dave and are heaps of fun and relatively easy to catch on fly. It was good casting practice for me in prep for next week's salmon session, fingers crossed for football fields of them when we are out there.
