pittwaterfishing Posted March 10, 2013 Posted March 10, 2013 8/3 So out to Towlers bay it was on Friday afternoon, the water was very brown. Got to Towlers and just managed to get small bream and snapper and a few yakkas but the water colour seemed to make it pretty quiet. Saturday morning brought some boils on the surface so i got out a 20g gyro jig and started casting. 5 minutes in I fire out another cast and as the braids hanging in the air, a seagull flies straight into it and gets wrapped up.. So i dragged it towards the boat and netted it and he definitely did not like that... After some attempts to unwrap him whilst he was trying to bite me i cut the line. He flew away and the rest of the morning was pretty uneventful except the water colour was back to normal.. Is this because of the Warragamba Dam releasing water?
Day's Fishin Posted March 10, 2013 Posted March 10, 2013 The overflowing or water releasing from Warragamba turns the Hawkesbury into a chocolate soup and would not affect Towers bay. The dirty water in that area is affected by run off and as the weather has improved then less run off. Jeff

The little bastards do try to nip you. When they are in the net, grab them around the back of the neck and line removal becomes much easier.
