Hard steering

Took the boat for a quick run this afternoon to dust off the cobwebs, it's a 475 Quintrex Coastrunner. Haven't had a run for about 2 months, started beautifully but was VERY hard to turn the wheel. Lowered engine down fully and managed to just turn engine, once we were up and running it slowly loosened and, all was good...is this normal? Thanks in advance....

Hey mate is it hydraulic or cable if its cable, the metal pole bit the motor slides on when u turn just put some oil on it and turn the motor left to right till its all lubricated

It's cable, thank you so much! Will give it a go tomorrow, any oil you recommend? It's a Yamaha 2 stroke 60hp..

No worries i use the 2 stroke oil i put in my petrol and it works fine

Sometimes check behind the wheel, make sure the cable didn't jump a track. At one point it felt like ours seized up but it was the cable, it jumped the track and made it hard as shit to turn.

leaving it for a few mths is not the best , if ya can jump in it every fortnight at least and give it a good dozen or so turns from lock to lock and use those grease nipples what for amd push out all the old grease every 3 mths ,not a lost of cost for return of ease of steering ,
