Tarana
First time tried Gulp jerkshad SP today, two were half bitten off. What fish would it be? Thought it must be something very big. My son used one of them earlier in the same session, caught a decent sized flathead. Only the front part where the hook was attached was a bit split, guessing because of pulling. Jewhunter
Being the time of year it is I would say Tailor. It really depends on where you were fishing & the size of the sp you were using. Cheers, Grant.

Cheers, Grant. Thanks Grant. We were fishing around Brooklyn, landbased. The SP was 5" Gulp Jerk Shad. If they were Taylors, how big do they have to be to do that? I would like to get same size SP, hopefully next weekend, what line class would I have to use. Today we only had 6lb line, I guess we would have a chance to land that fish if hooked up. Am I right? Would appreciate any of your advice or tips. Chris

They don't have to be very big to be biting your plastics in half. 5 inch jerk shad will be destroyed by tailor even 15-20cm

So is 5in sp wrong bait? Shoul it be bigger or different lures? To me, another strange thing was it seemed they did not touch the pieces of a yakka I caught in the same area. And your caught flicking SP's you'd best walk the opposite direction, unless you were going to throw the plastics you were using out anyway
SargeRX8
Wrap a piece of aluminium foil around a jig head and cast into a school of choppers, you'll get some.

LungFai
Or tie on a metal spinner and you'll have a blast with them little choppers. Great fun and if you are lucky you might score a 30 plus model to take home and smoke.

Thanks for such a great advice, otherwise I never have a reason to try new gear.
Jewhunter
Don't forget that often where there are tailor there are jewies. If you do get a legal one whack a fillet off it & put it straight back out on a heavier outfit. You might get a big surprise! Cheers, Grant.
