Another Great Day

Just got the biggest hug from my nearly three year old little boy just before he has gone to brush his teeth and go to bed.

He said " thanks daddy for the boat day and the special beach and for fishing with me"

Finally downed tools on the never ending projects I have going to tart the house up for an impending sale and said we are taking the boat out today.First time in nearly three months

Packed a picnic lunch and launched the pogoboat at bayview, told Rory we were going to a special beach

Trolled up to The Basin, perfect day, water was like glass, barely a breath of wind.

Had our picnic at the basin, can you believe it there was only one other group in the whole place,

Went for a walk around the back and pumped up a couple of yabbies for Rory to look at.

Then we berleyed up some poddies and caught a coulple in the trap and put them in a bucket.

Next thing the clothes were off and he was "Plashing"........."No not cold daddy"

we made footprints back around past the sharknet and then fished for a little while

Then back to mummy on the picnic rug with Harriet (1) and we saw ducks and burras and wallabies,

Off to the water edge for sandcastles and we let the little fishes go.

Back in the boat to go home, asleep within minutes.

Daddy trolled home.

On the serious front no fish caught or seen, no gulls working, not even any tiddlers caught at the basin, very quiet.

On the soul food front a veritable feast.

Priceless :1clap::1clap::1clap:

Lap it up now, cause as they grow all they want is their "Gameboys"

My two boys do love the boat but not so much the fishing.

They're speed deamons !!

Picked up a pair of training skis at last weeks boat show so roll on spring and the warmer water. We're set for a great time on the water this year.

Regards,

Yellit.

Pogo,

What a gem of a report. Bought a little lump to my throat.

I just love fishing with my kids but don't do it nearly as often now I'm boatless but I'm hoping to fix that soon.

I used to put my tinnie in at Silverwater and head up the Parra to Hen and Chicken bay with my eldest boy (he's 9 this year). I'd flick plastics of all descriptions and sizes and he'd outfish me every time on whole prawns and take the piss out of me all the way home - priceless! :074::074:

Of course if I swallowed my pride and stuck a prawn on he'd still outfish me little bugga!!! :badair:

Great memories with your kids and he and I often talk about his "blue noses from Hen and Chicken Bay".

Cheers

Reports like that really help me stay focused on my boat restoration. When my boats ready I'll be taking my little girl out for sure!!!

I am with you all there, nothing and i mean nothing even goes close to a great day with the little ones, as you get older, those memories are so precious. Remember when we were kids, we had to be "tough" so it wasnt cool to say that something was beautiful. These days, i truly treasure the moments i spent with my father all those years ago.

Sensational report Pogo,

I spent every school holiday of my young life in the ute with Dad driving out to Bourke or Menindee lakes fishing and camping. Times of my life I'll never forget. Now I'm 43 and I still love going out to Dad's farm at Camden and sitting beside him on the bank of his dam catching silver perch and drinking beer. Do it every chance you can my friend!

Cheers

Pete
