Catchin Jack
Went out squiding last night but this car was in our way at the ramp, car was eventually recovered and boat and trailer was nicely parked in carpark while car was sunk. A reminder to be careful on the ramps.
Jewhunter
Did you pull it out with the Pajero mate? Must be a big bloody drop off the end of that ramp. BTW, did you get any squid? Cheers, Grant.
Catchin Jack
The drop off the end of the ramp is about 2ft, it's a ridiculous ramp but the council wont repair it. Needed bigger than my truck to recover it, we had to drag it sideways and then pull it out as it wouldn't come over the drop unless we used a crane. As for squid, there was a few around but very timid, the lake was pretty quiet last night.
PRED-ATOR
probably a stupid question, but do you think they would write that off or try and repair it?
abecedarian
It'd be a write off I'd imagine, it's not a very new car. The damage to the electrics/computer would write it off almost certainly on its own, let alone the damage to the interior, the cost of an engine clean/rebuild, bearings, etc etc... Jewhunter
Yep, it's a write off.

oz_brett
Have to question this or am I reading it wrong, "boat & trailer parked nicely in the car park while the car was sunk"? I’m not perfect I have forgot the bungs before but never have I launched the wrong vehicle

slinkymalinky
Probably not the best place to be building an artificial reef.
Catchin Jack
Took us over an hour to recover, we had to drag it sideways toward jetty and then drag it up. Locals are known to make their own reef system lol. I hope his insurance is nice to him.
Guest mike2153
Thats a write off no questions asked. If you dropped a brand new lambo into the water its a write off. Water damage especially salt water is almost well pretty much beyond fixing.

Scratchie
In all seriousness, IMO I think an AWD should be a minimum when launching/retrieving a boat. I've had to help too many people pull boats out the water as theirs cars slip and slide all over the place. Cheers scratchie!!!
