Rusty Hookes
A lot of guys placing the rods in the rack for winter but still plenty about. Last few weekends still manged quick sessions on plastics. Middle of the day seems best at low tide in upper reaches. Must be sun baking!
Jewhunter
Well done mate & you are exactly right. Any shallower, warm areas during the day will hold flatties keeping warm. They look a great eating size. Cheers, Grant.
Yowie
As Jewhunter stated, the flatties like the shallow water because it is a bit warmer, and this is why they are still chasing moving lures or baits. In the cold deeper water, they would be nearly asleep.
zaki10
Did you get these land based or off the boat? Great catch as well what bait/plastics were you using if you don't mind me asking?
josamill
Nice catch!.........boneless/skinless crumbed fillets.......yum! we're still getting around 2 flatties per hour on plastics from Pittwater up to Cowan Creek. I used to think November - April were the best 6 months for flatties, but I'm revising to Jan-June....we've had a much better May/June than we did Nov/Dec. The party might be over soon with the cooler weather and water here, but what the heck, one more go this weekend!
Rusty Hookes
Zaki, Boat based and simply used a variety of left overs. Also added a little Sqidgie scent (also left overs). They were not fussy
