cardo Posted June 29, 2013 Posted June 29, 2013 Do fish go off the bite at all with all this rain or does it have the opposite effect
filthmonger Posted June 29, 2013 Posted June 29, 2013 Ive heard that all the crap that washes into the sytems raises c02 levels which make the fish inactive.
stevefish Posted June 29, 2013 Posted June 29, 2013 you got it right in your title. fishing in the first of the rain is good, fishing in run-off ie now, shall we say, presents many challenges.
abecedarian Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 It all depends on what you're chasing and where in the system you're fishing...
cardo Posted June 30, 2013 Author Posted June 30, 2013 Yeah looking at either fishing around woolooware bay or more towards grays point.
cardo Posted June 30, 2013 Author Posted June 30, 2013 Had a fish sarvo in guttamatta bay though the wind got up a little bit managed to get a salmon 2 tailors and a bream
Yowie Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 Have had some good catches in murky water after a fair bit of rain. And that's more than 50 years of fishing in Port Hacking. At this time of year, the fish are slowing down as the water temperature is cooling, and heavy doses of rain will drop the water temperature up river much faster than the ocean.
