elferoz777
Spent what turn out to be a nice 4 hours at the north wall in port kembla. The wind died down and the sun was beaming which made the trip worth it....the fishing didnt.. Didnt get a single bite, I used cunji, pilchards, bread and prawn and moved from the far end of the wall the near the entrance (where I usually fish). There was a fellow there with a heal of slimies but I am not sire whether he got them from elsewhere or caught them at port. Next to him was a bloke with a large pile of what I thought were sardines but were actually undersized tailor ranging from 15cms to 20 cms at a stretch....not good. My mate has been catching big tailor there recently and leather jackets but no such luck for myself. I am thinking I will need to get there before the sun rises or goes down, I know people do it and get good fish though I find it hard as the gates shut at that time...or so says the sign. Anyhow, I got a call from the boss saying her little nephew was over and that he and my son (both 4 yr olds) were tearing the house apart.....I then decided sitting out in the sun but not catching anything was not the worse thing I could deal with early Saturday morning.... Last time I went there (3 weeks ago) it wasnt doing too well. I have heard that the salmon are about though and you will always see a pile of scales at the shower block.
