brickman
I have a handfull of coordinates in MGA format (e.g. MGA470581). They are australian land based maps. Would like to convert these to GPS coordinates (deg, min, sec) so i can punch them into my Garmin. Any ideas on how i can do this without trying to mess around around with maps. Is there some kind of conversion table? Thanks Heath
zook2001
I take it you have an easting (6 figures), northing (7 figures) and grid zone, set your GPS to UTM and it they should plug straight in, the only thing to watch is your datum which is possibly still AUS1966 and the grid zone probably 55 or 56 if you don't know it.
