mushtaka
Hey raiders, i was given 2 crab traps the other day. I think they are called "lift nets" (Meshed bottom ring and a collapsing net that lifts when you pull it up) I know that some traps are illegal but i cant seem to find anything on the NSW fisheries web about "lift nets" just witches hats and other traps that are not the same. Anyone got any info or could point me in the right direction? Or are they crap at catching crabs and i should just go and get a "witches-hat" Here is a pic from the web that is very similar to mine. Thanks! Mushtaka Edited August 5, 2013 by mushtaka

Linc
These are actually the only trap you can use recreationally in Vic, they do work.. you just have to check it regularly otherwise the crabs come, eat and leave with your bait.
