evinwd1
I'm looking at getting an older type tinny as they seem to be cheaper and of a better quality than the newer boats. One restriction I have is the towing capacity of my car is 500kg unbraked. I'm trying to find out the approximate weight of some of the older tinnies (4.2m Quintrex Fishabout MkII, 4m de Havilland etc).Any info would be appreciated

Fab1
My quintrex 420 estuary angler weighs 550kg with 30hp,full tank of fuel and very little gear on trailer as per weigh bridge certificate. You'll be surprised how many of us are towing boats that weigh well beyond what we thought.
evinwd1
Found this from an boat review conducted in 1991 The 1991 Quintrex Fishabout is 4.3 m long with a maximum beam of 1.80 m, and a depth of 880 mm. The unladen hull weighs 285 kg. The test boat weighed around 620 kg fitted with a Evinrude 50 hp outboard and a Coaster single axle trailer So it looks like I need to look at tinnies around the 13ft mark with a light trailer.
